Ecotourism Expansion Planned

If you enjoy nature, Chile is expanding their Chilean Trail:

Twelve environmental projects will promote ecotourism along the ”endero de Chile”, the Chilean Trail, which at 8,000 kilometers (almost 5,000 miles) will be one of the longest pathways in the world for hiking or tours on bicycle or horseback.

The route is to run from Visviri, on the northern Chilean border with Peru and Bolivia, to Cape Horn, the southern tip of South America [Tierra America]

These upgrades will be completed by Chile’s bicentennial in 2010. Ecotourism is big business in Chile and brings in a large number of tourists each year. Due to Chile’s wide ranging geography, there is stuff to see and do for everyone.
