Do you know of a Chilean Slang Book?
Hena writes to inquire about a Chilean slang book. Although I’ve got a page on Chilean slang, I haven’t heard of this book:
My husband and I lived in Santiago for a few months (near Bellavista) and traveled the length of Chile for nearly 6 months. During our travels, we bought a book that’s pretty famous among Chilenos and ex-pats living in Chile. It’s a funny sort of Chileno-English dictionary of Chilean slang. We lent it to someone years ago and never got it back. It was a paperback book with a green cover. I’m desperate to find it again and am wondering if this rings a bell? I believe it was written by an American man. Any thoughts? Your help is very much appreciated!
If you are familiar with this book, please add your comment below or contact me. Thanks!
