Cowboy Spurs as Wedding Tradition?

I am doing a talk in my son’s second grade class about Chile. I found your website to be very helpful. I have heard that Chile has a custom of giving cowboy spurs to wedding couples as a sign of good luck. Is this true and if so what is the meaning behind this tradition?
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I personally never heard about this tradition during my time in Chile. In addition, none of the Chileans I asked recognized the tradition. It could be a regional tradition if it is one at all.
